Associate Professor Susan Donath

Associate Professor Susan Donath is a senior biostatistician and epidemiologist with extensive experience in the design and analysis of quantitative health-related research, perinatal epidemiology and clinical trials. Susan is an author on more than 200 publications in refereed journals, 70 of which have been published in the last 5 years. Since 2003, Susan has been a senior consultant statistician and Deputy Director in the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), based at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Melbourne and is jointly employed by the University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics. Susan’s previous appointments include Senior Research Fellow at TurningPoint Alcohol & Drug Centre (2000-2003) with responsibility for alcohol epidemiological research, and lecturer at the Key Centre for Women’s Health (KCWH), University of Melbourne (1995-2000). At KCWH she designed and delivered postgraduate courses in quantitative research methods both in Australia and in Vietnam and China (as part of Key Centre collaboration with WHO), provided research support for postgraduate students and staff, and directly supervised several Masters students.

Susan sits on the PLUSS Trial Steering Committee.
